Dean Clavio

Dean’s passion for fly fishing began at the age of 10 when a small brown trout in the Little Beaverkill took mercy on him and sipped his dry fly after about 100 casts or so. Throughout his former career in his family’s business, Dean would head to the Catskills from his nearby home in Orange County, NY to fly fish every chance he could.

Early on Dean became serious, honing his skills and eventually turned his passion into a career he loves. Even on his days off, you can find Dean on the water fly fishing. When the season on the Delaware river ends for the year, Dean travels to the Florida Keys where you will find him saltwater fishing and assisting in the Orvis Saltwater Fly Fishing School. Dean’s enthusiasm and teaching skills are a big part of what makes him stand out as a professional fly fishing guide.
